Kenneth Emson
Associate Artist
Kenny is a graduate of the prestigious Goldsmiths’ Writing for Performance MA and Associate Playwright for Box of Tricks. In 2008, he was selected as one of seven playwrights for Old Vic New Voices’ 24 Hour Plays and had work première at the Hotbed Festival (Cambridge) and Hotink Festival (New York). For Box of Tricks, his work includes Rural (White Bear), Whispering Happiness (Tristan Bates) and The Captain of the School Football Team (theatre503, Hotbed Festival and Latitude Festival '09). Kenny was a recent member of the Royal Court’s invitation-only Writers’ Programme and has worked with Paines Plough and The National Theatre Studio on invitation-only workshops.
Adam Quayle
Artistic Director and Co-Founder
Adam trained as a director at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.  For Box of Tricks, he has directed Word:Play 3 (Theatre 503); Letting in Air (Old Red Lion Theatre); Word:Play 2 (Theatre 503); Word:Play (Union Theatre); A Hole in the Fence, Streetlights and Shadows (Time Out Critics' Choice: Show of the Week) and Beyond Omarska (White Bear). Previous directing credits also include Anything of Worth (Pleasance & Bridewell); Homeland (Theatre 503); Underground Resistance (Hen & Chickens); and Among Unbroken Hearts (Cockpit).  His assistant director credits include Translations (Best Production, MEN Awards 2003) and The Ghosts of Scrooge for Roger Haines at the Library Theatre, Manchester.  Adam was a finalist for Channel 4 Theatre Directors' Scheme, 2007-08, and Old Vic New Voices' 24 Hour Plays 2008.  He is a drama facilitator and a member of the Young Vic Genesis Directors’ Project.
Hannah Tyrrell-Pinder

Hannah trained as a director at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. Directing credits for Box of Tricks include Word:Play 3 (Theatre 503); Whispering Happiness (Tristan Bates);  Captain of the School Football Team (Hotbed and Latitude festivals '09); Word:Play 2 (Theatre 503); Word:Play (Union Theatre); A Hole in the Fence and Rural (White Bear); Frank Pig Says Hello (Barons Court); and Rural (Lost One Act Festival, Courtyard Theatre).  Other directing includes Repeat (The George Tavern), Wheel of Fortune (Tristan Bates) and The Lonesome West (Cockpit). Assisting credits include Godspell (BAC) and True West (Menier Chocolate Factory and Edinburgh Assembly Rooms).  She is a youth theatre director for Montage Theatre Arts and a drama facilitator for Bigfoot. She is also a script reader for Theatre 503 and a member of the Young Vic Genesis Directors' Project.
Chris James
Associate Artist
Originally from South Africa, Chris attended Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and graduated in 2005. Sound designs include Whispering Happiness (Box of Tricks), The Servant of Two Masters (Wales Theatre Company), Fragile! (Cherub Company), A Hole In The Fence (Box of Tricks), Storkbite and Proper Lunch (Zoo Theatre), Company (Chelsea Theatre), The House of Bernarda Alba (New Players Theatre), The Accrington Pals (Pleasance Theatre), Nunsense (St. Peters Church), Rural (Box of Tricks) and Beyond Omarska (Box of Tricks).Other sound work includes: Cabaret (National Tour), West Side Story (Aberystwyth Arts Centre), Kean (National tour and West End), associate sound designer for The Bargain (National tour), A Christmas Carol and A Child's Christmas in Wales (Both for Wales Theatre Company), Smaller (National Tour and West End).

    Robin Guiver
    Associate Artist
    Robin's work as a movement director includes: Word:Play 3 (Theatre 503), A Hole in the Fence (White Bear Theatre) and Whispering Happiness (Tristan Bates Theatre) for Box of Tricks, and Feathers in the Snow for the National Theatre’s Education Department. As a creator and performer, Robin has worked in physical and devised theatre in Morocco, Québec, New York and Spain, as well as the UK. He can currently be seen performing in the National Theatre’s War Horse in the West End.
    Dan Baker
    Associate Producer
    Dan trained as a producer at Central School of Speech and Drama, and since graduating has produced a variety of work - including a range of performances and large-scale events.  Recent work includes US/UK Exchange 2009, The 24 Hour Plays 2009 and Symposium: The Evolution Project (The Old Vic), Norman Shadowboxer (Lyric Hammersmith/Edinburgh Fringe 2010), Word:Play 3 (Box of Tricks, Theatre 503) and First Time Voters (Bush Theatre).  In addition to working with Box of Tricks, Dan is currently Producer for The Company Project and EmptyBox Theatre – of whom he is a founder member – and he is also an experienced workshop leader and script reader, having worked with a variety of companies across the UK.
